Dr. Dixon is a professor of pediatric surgery. She is the first black woman to serve as Dean for Howard University College of Medicine .

This 57- year -old beauty earlier served as division -chief -of pediatric surgery and surgeon- in -chief in the same institution. And a Professor of surgical oncology at University of North Carolina Children’s Hospital.

Permit me to say that when I saw those smiles, I saw her passion for her calling. I wasn’t surprised to know she’s a pediatrician.

In the 154 years history of this great institution, she has become a light for all women of colour. Another inspiration to give all you have got for what you believe in, no matter what.

Her new job description has to do with managing the admin and academic affairs of the school. (To be continued)
