Miss Ghana Universe 2022/23, Engracia Efua, took us back to the brave woman warrior who made such a difference that the history of Ghana is incomplete without her.

Yaa Ashantewa led the Ghanaian army against the British army. We know she lost because Ghana was colonized by the British. But she fought very bravely against a male army for the freedom of her people.

The intricate art of having those faces on the shining material must have been a patient affair. Those faces stand for her people who she fought for. The golden stool that was stolen by the British which triggered the war is her head gear. The outfit is so complete. Here is a summary of this awesome attire.

Everyone look up at the stool the British stole from us. My golden gown and breast plate reflect the huge gold deposit of the Gold Coast. My spear I have picked and sharpened in the defense of my people. Fight to the death!
